š«Appointments update:
Hello farm friends. Just letting you know that TODAY was the LAST DAY to make appointments, because we have the calendar turned off after the 11th of August. If we still have berries at that time we will reevaluate and open some as needed, but what this means for you right now is that unless someone cancels their appointment, and you come across it in time you wonāt be able to get an appointment. We realize that many of you who have come in the past were not able to get in this year and we are sorry. There is just more demand and supply. We are a tiny farm, as farms go with only 1000 plants in cultivation. We usually get about 6000 lbs of berries on a good year. Divide that by all the appointments over approximately 6 weeks and you can see why we have to limit appointments.
This year so far has been very fruitful, despite the reappearance of the dreaded mummy berry, and a higher than usual wildlife ātaxā- lots of birds, and the occasional marauding deer (although we think we found the weak spot in the fencing, thanks to Susan Arends and her trail cams.
We still have lots of berries ripening and expect to be able to fully accommodate the rest of our customers who have appointments over the next 2 weeks, but no guarantees. We are at the mercy of nature. If they begin to run low we will let you know here or on our website.
We donāt have a waitlist set up and wonāt be able to call anyone, but you can certainly look in the calendar as often as you like to keep checking for openings. We have noticed in the past that the further on we get in the summer, the more cancellations happen as people are getting ready to get their kids back to school, etc. so your chances of getting in on a cancellation are actually pretty good. Best of luck to you.
And thank you to all of you who make the trek out here each year. We appreciate your business!š«
